Everything about New Orleans artist John T. Scott seems larger than life––from his smallest artworks, to his personal correspondence, and even his recipes for Chicken Bread. This exhibit’s size allowed for a comprehensive look at the exceptional scope of his life journey and artistic disciplines. The show incorporated sculptures in glass, metal, wood and paper, so filled with movement––even sitting inside a vitrine––they seemed to fly. Also on view included paintings, calligraphy in pen and paint, and his large scale 4 ft. by 6 ft. woodcut blocks used to make prints. This larger catalog size brings to life this special CAAM exhibit.
