KING IN CALIFORNIA II
January 12 - February 28, 2012
In January 2008, CAAM paid tribute to Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. with a display of photographs taken during some of his many trips to California. We recalled that on March 3, 1968, Dr. King delivered one of his final sermons at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, Georgia, commenting on an early memory of driving Highway 80 from Selma to Los Angeles. King visited California regularly from 1956 through 1968, participating in the civic, political and social life of our state. Through King in California II we have the opportunity to view once again images of Dr. King in his travels to bring justice to our country.
Photographs borrowed from the collection of the Institute for Arts and Media, at the California State University, Northridge.
